Author deletion is not currently supported. If you reach your plan's author limit (Free: up to 5, Light: up to 15, Regular: unlimited), edit an existing author you're no longer using and reuse it instead of creating a new one.
Background transparency is not supported. You can achieve a pseudo-transparent background by setting the background color in the Color section to the same color as your theme's background.
We recommend uploading your profile image to Files in your Shopify Admin (Content > Files), then entering the resulting URL as the author's profile image.

No. You can assign only one author to each piece of content.
When you apply an author, the blog post's author name is overwritten with the applied author's name, and removing the author does not restore the original name. To restore it, edit the author name individually under "Content > Blog posts" in your Shopify Admin. Note that author names for products and pages are not overwritten.
Your existing author data is not deleted. However, if you exceed the limit (Free: 5, Light: 15), you won't be able to add new authors. In addition, features limited to higher plans are disabled — such as display on products and pages (Regular Plan only), and author links and rich text formatting (Light Plan and above; shown as plain text on the Free Plan).
